ANNOUNCING CALL FOR ENTRIES, CATS & GUITARS GROUP ART EXHIBIT COMING JANUARY 2016, CHARTREUSE GALLERY, PHOENIX

September 26, 2015 (Phoenix, AZ) The first ever “Cats & Guitars” themed group art exhibition is now accepting artist submissions. The show will be held in January 2016 at Chartreuse Gallery in Phoenix, AZ.

This exhibit will explore the mysterious but undeniable connection between cats and guitars, with every piece featuring some reference to both the feline form and the art of luthiery (the construction and repair of stringed instruments).

The Cats & Guitars exhibition is open to everyone. The only limitation is that entries must represent original works of art or design and must contain an image of or reference to a cat AND a guitar or a ukulele, banjo, mandolin, lute, or bass guitar (guitar cases are acceptable).

A variety of artworks are welcome for submission, including: oil, watercolor, acrylic, graphite, charcoal, pastels, photography, ceramics, printmaking, textile, mixed media, video, and sculpture/three dimensional pieces. Actual guitars are welcome, too!

Full details on how to submit artwork can be found at catsandguitars.com. The submission deadline is November 15, 2015. Submissions will be reviewed and artists will be notified of acceptance by December 1. The show will open for First Friday on January 1, 2016 and an artists’ reception will be held on Third Friday, January 15. Additional hours TBD.

The Cats & Guitars exhibit is being produced by Kate Benjamin, Cat Style Expert, founder of the popular cat style blog hauspanther.com, and #1 New York Times bestselling co-author of the book, Catification: Designing a Happy and Stylish Home for Your Cat (and You!). Phoenix-based artist and ambient musician Daniel Shepherd will serve as the show coordinator.
